I haven't been to the dentist in years. I am now 18 yrs old, I
was planning to go to get my teeth fixed. But the problem with my teeth is that I need
braces but there are also small and I wanted to know if there was a way that I could have
normal size teeth. You should be happy to hear that your situation is quite common and usually very fixable! Depending on the size and position of your teeth, you may be an excellent candidate for braces and then having porcelain facings (veneers) bonded to them to perfect your smile with just the right sized teeth you desire. Also, gum surgery is often a viable alternative to expose more of your natural teeth and give you less of a 'gummy' smile. If your teeth are not too out of position, you may even be able to forego the braces, since porcelain facings and crowns can correct tooth positioning on their own. I recommend that you visit a dentist who provides cosmetic dentistry AND can refer you to an orthodontist, should you need braces. Good luck! |
