I was told that I need a crown
sleeve overdenture to restore my lower jaw. Can you please explain what
that is and can you include a picture of what the denture looks like and what my mouth
would look like when the denture is out. Though we do not have a photo to show you, an overdenture is a denture designed to fit over 1 or more of your remaining teeth. The teeth which will be covered by your denture may have crowns designed in such a way as to provide a good fit for your overdenture. They will not look like natural teeth, but more like round 'bumps' over which the denture will fit. By keeping these remaining teeth as support for your denture, you will benefit from greater support and retention of the denture, and the amount of bone loss in your mandible may be reduced. I hope this answers some of your quesions... and good luck with your treatment! |
